In 2003 Cherry King built a state of the art Cherry Packing shed which has earned a reputation for being among the industry leader in Service and Quality.
Cherry King boasts the most up to date integrated pest management and post harvest handling procedures in the field and all the way into the packhouse and then to the customer.
We strictly adhere to the cool chain process from paddock to point of distribution. Cherries enter into the cool chain process whereby cherries are cooled to 5 degrees as soon as they are brought in from the field and are then cooled to 1 degree after they have gone through the packing process. This keeps the freshness and quality in the product for our consumers. Cherries are processed in less than 24 hours ensuring optimum ripeness & fresh-picked flavour.
We are also capable of grading fruit to nominated size and quality and pack to customer specific requirements, ie gift packs, pre packs, plastic punnets or loose. Cherries are packed under the brand names Cherry King, Crystal Creek and Royal Orchard which are well recognised for premium quality, continuity of supply and diversity of varieties to cater for the market needs. The size of products packed under these brands is 500g, 1kg, 2kg and 5kg.
Our commitment to research and development contributes to our impressive local and international success and places us at the world forefront in developing new varieties, pest control, packaging & storage. Our pre-shipping coldrooms allow us to cool our products to optimum temperature prior to shipment.
Once the Cherries have passed our stringent Quality control tests and are ready to go to the customers they are loaded into refrigerated trucks and delivered to their destination over night. Cherries for the Export market are airfreighted overseas, to ensure the finest quality for the customers.
Cherry King has the exclusive world availability for the last week of October and first week of November of Export quality cherry varieties which include; Brooks, Sequoia and Early Garnet.
Cherry King’s Farms and Packing Shed are accredited in HACCP SQF 2000 and Woolworth’s Quality Assurance (WQA).
